Hernia mesh manufacturers and the surgeons who implant the mesh are essentially criminals with a license to KILL.
My surgeon was Dr. Luke Aaron Kinsinger from Central Carolina Surgery, located at 1002 N Church Street, Suite 302, Greensboro, NC 27401.
I found him to be incompetent, unethical, and criminal.
I underwent an open right inguinal hernia repair with Ethicon ultra pro mesh (Product #umr3).
Unfortunately, the mesh ruptured just hours after the surgery, causing fragments to migrate into my abdominal cavity. However, the surgeon falsely assured me that my symptoms were merely due to gas.
I will detail my symptoms below, all of which suggest mesh dislodgment and migration—a serious complication. Regrettably, I cannot provide any tangible evidence, as the mesh is undetectable by any imaging techniques, giving surgeons and manufacturers a convenient excuse.
Dr. Kinsinger attributed my numerous complications, which began the night of my surgery, to gas, age, weather, and ultimately dismissed my concerns entirely.
The reality, based on my symptoms, is that the mesh had indeed ruptured, with pieces moving into my abdominal cavity and adhering to my bladder, small intestines, cecum, sigmoid colon, and major blood vessels (aorta, vena cava). However, this cannot be confirmed since the mesh is invisible on imaging tests like ultrasound, CT scans, or MRIs.
The only evidence I have is the symptoms that began on the day of the surgery and persist to this day.
Here’s what I experienced:
A bulging surgical site that felt very hot, distention in my right flank with severe pain, palpable masses in my abdomen, stabbing and burning sensations, bulging veins, bowel obstruction, black stools, chills, inflammation, swelling, bloating, nausea, fatigue, and malaise.
Each symptom is accompanied by intense pain, including painful chills and bloating. I also experienced rapid breathing and multiple instances of losing consciousness, along with irregular heartbeats.
These symptoms indicate early stages of organ failure, as prolonged dysfunction of organs can lead to complete failure.
All these symptoms have persisted since May 8, 2023, and are worsening.
Despite multiple emergency room visits and referrals to various specialists—including a primary care doctor, vascular surgeon, endocrinologist, cardiologist, and neurologist—no one has been able to explain my symptoms or declining health.
Surgeons who use mesh for hernia repairs are instructed by the manufacturers to deny any complications and to avoid admitting any issues.
Mesh manufacturers and doctors have failed to inform patients about the risks associated with the mesh. They have sold recalled products for medical use and concealed evidence of defects from the FDA, as well as the fact that the mesh is undetectable by imaging methods like ultrasound, CT scans, or MRIs.
Dr. Luke Kinsinger is incompetent, unethical surgeon.
